Do I need electricity to power the ignition on a Whirlpool® gas cooktop?
Your Whirlpool® gas cooktop requires a grounded 3-prong outlet for installation as you will need electricity to power the appliance’s ignition. When selecting placement for your new cooktop, the outlet must be within reach of the appliance’s electrical power cord.
Whirlpool® limited cooktop warranty
Most Whirlpool® cooking appliances are covered under a limited warranty for a year following the date of purchase. As long as your unit was installed and operated following the instructions in your owner’s manual, the warranty covers damaged factory specified parts and the associated repair labor. Both gas and electric cooktops are covered under this limited warranty.
